INTERIM GENERAL MANAGER – INDUSTRIAL TRANSFORMATION

At Magtalent, we are looking for an Interim General Manager to lead a major industrial transformation project in France.
The company currently has manufacturing operations in the Lille region. The project involves the orderly closure of one site and the transformation of the remaining site into a primarily logistics hub, while maintaining a limited level of production activity.
We are looking for a senior executive with a strong execution mindset, used to leading organisations through complex transformation processes and capable of making decisions, mobilising teams and managing multiple stakeholders.
Main responsibilities
• Take overall leadership of the company throughout the transformation process.
• Define and execute the operational transition plan.
• Manage the closure and reorganisation of the industrial operations.
• Lead the transformation of the remaining site into a primarily logistics-based operation.
• Coordinate Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance and HR teams.
• Manage relationships with employees, employee representatives, suppliers, customers and other key stakeholders.
• Ensure business continuity throughout the entire process.
• Report to the Group’s international management team.
Candidate profile
• Engineering degree or equivalent technical background.
• Previous experience as a General Manager, Operations Director, Manufacturing Director or Plant Manager.
• Proven experience in industrial restructuring, plant closure, consolidation or major manufacturing transformation projects.
• Strong hands-on profile, with excellent execution capability, leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage complex organisational situations while maintaining a strong focus on people, operations and results.
• Very high level of French and strong command of English.
The position is open to both French and Spanish candidates.
For Spanish candidates, it is essential to have developed a significant part of their professional career in France, with several years of actual working experience in the country and a deep understanding of French business, industrial and labour culture.
We are ultimately looking for an Interim Executive with real industrial experience, strong leadership, sound judgement and the ability to execute a highly complex transformation on the ground.
